Obituary of Verne Leslie Isbister
Verne Leslie Isbister
June 25, 1946 - March 17,2024
We thank the Creator God for blessing us with a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. Whose heart was filled with love, whose smile and smirky grin touched your heart, Whose teasing sense of humour filled you with joy and laughter, and who was brave enough to be a man who generously modelled unconditional love, friendship and respect to all those who entered into his Circle of Life.
He was always such a fun guy to hang out with, loved to laugh and enjoyed life. Verne was such a hard worker, never complained and always did what had to be done. He loved to travel, camp out in the RV and gamble a little. Verne enjoyed working in his yard and pond and especially enjoyed night fires and weiner roasts. He loved his “little family” and they made his life complete. No one will ever know how full of love and gentleness this man was. Everyone who knew Verne will have a special memory of him.
We will miss you and are sad, but happy knowing you are free of pain and heaven has opened its door for you to celebrate life after lasting with all or our beloved relations: your mother Helen Isbister and father Gilbert Isbister, sisters Marianne, Rita, Colleen and brother Arnold.
Always lovingly remembered by your wife, Wilma; children, Carrie, Chad, Amy and Taylor; grandchild and great grandchildren. Sisters and brothers: Valerie Harper, Ron (Maggie) Isbister, Lloyd (Shirley) Isbister, Debbie Isbister, Shelley (Dennis) Landrie, Roderick Isbister and Dawn Isbister. Special sister and brother-in-law, Laurette and Rae Bloomquist.
You are our special angel, Verne, and we know you will always be by our side.
The Judge was strong right to the bitter end. We lost a kind and loving man who always put his “little family” first.
A Visitation was held on the evening of Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Westwood Funeral Chapel. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Christ Church Anglican (515 28th St. W, Saskatoon, SK.)
Please consider making a donation in Verne’s memory to the Hospice at Glengarda or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
