So very sorry for the loss of your Mom/Grandma, Melina and JP and family. I will always remember how fun your Mom was! Her laugh and sense of humour was truly infectious. She was a dear friend to my Mom and I know she will be remembered lovingly. I loved to stop in at the flower shop and visit when I was a kid. It was a pretty store. I even worked one summer selling bedding plants. It was so fun. I remember having a shared garden one summer too, learning about, caring for and weeding it! Hugs to all!

I have so many great memories of Margie spending time with us often at our home in Sioux Lookout. In the summers, making flower boxes for her and able to watch how creative she was at her flower shop. She had such a gift. Irregardless of what came her way, she was always so positive, generous and kind, always maintaining her good sense of humour and grace. As far back as I can remember she has been such a wonderful friend to my Mom. How they always remained close and were there for one another. We got to stop and see Margie several times on our journeys out West. Those times we will especially cherish now. Another free spirit and good soul gone too soon. Deepest Sympathy to Margie’s family. She will be missed dearly. Rest in peace Margie.
Love Gina McFee-Bernier

I wanted to first of all let you all know that my mother Marlene Perron has requested a morning mass be said for Margie at the Sioux Lookout Sacred Heart Parish on King St. The mass will be on Tuesday July 4, 2023 at 8:30am. Anyone who wants to spend a few quiet moments in honor of Margie is welcome to attend. I know many people in the Sioux Lookout area still have a very fond connection to Margie from her years there, so I wanted to post this information. Please feel free to pass it along to others.
I met my aunt Margie in my pre-adolescent years when she moved to Sioux Lookout. She was like no one I had ever met, she made life so alive and fun! I also worked in her flower shop and it was no ordinary shop! She taught everything from flowers, china to life’s celebrations, most of all how to support people with all of life’s important moments with such elegance and respect. We worked very hard but she made so much fun of it all of it right down to the dancing til her shoes fell off!
We had a very deep bond, in addition to flowers and china, we shared life in gardening, healing and spirituality. She was an amazing aunt and deep heart friend. Even thou we have not lived in the same community since I was a young adult, we kept our bond very alive and her presence in my life is everywhere. She cherished her friendships and her children and loved life so thoroughly.
I will miss our long talks, the sharing of seeds and remedies, the beautiful Christmas letters and so much more. Her presence will visit often, I am sure for many of us, in the garden, working with flowers, making tea and especially spotting rare birds and butterflies! Thank you dear Margie for being such a rare and precious being for so many.

When I was fresh out of high school, Margie owned and operated a flower/gift shop in Sioux Lookout Ontario. She hired me , and in conjunction with Confederation College, trained me to become a floral designer. She taught me to design with abandon..no stuffy floral arrangements! We made beautiful things, and spent many an hour during special holidays designing, but most memorably , joking and laughing. LOTS OF LAUGHING, and, not gonna lie, every now and then, there may have been our good hairdresser friend Mervyn, and some wine involved. I claim responsibility for Melina being born on Valentine's day..the doctors wanted this baby girl to make her scheduled arrival the day before..but I convinced Margie to rebel and insist she have a Valentine's baby ! Voila!! A beautiful baby girl, followed by a beautiful baby boy! You two babies were suddenly Margie's reason for exsisting, she loved her bundles of joy so very very much.
As the years flew by, we lost touch, but as I grew and became an artist , I always credit my friend Margie for embedding in me to 'colour outside the lines'. Godspeed my friend. You will be very missed by all who knew you.

Aunty and I met regularly for coffee and visits. We talked about work, family, friends and life. My favorite visit was at Christmas time when we drank 2 pots of starbucks coffee and ate cheese, rolls and fruit. Her Christmas tree was beautiful as ever! Love you always Aunt Margie!
