It is with much sorrow that I heard of Art's passing and on behalf of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles Association we extend our condolences to his family. I served with Art in 2 PPCLI and knew him to be an excellent soldier who would always lend a hand or offer a shoulder depending on the need. He will be remembered by many of us whose lives he touched, his stories of his time in the Royal Winnipeg Rifles must have affected me more than i realised, as years later that's where I ended up. Life may have separated us and we went our separate ways, but the bond lives on and I know that he would have been there had I but reached out to my brother in arms.

My condolences to the Mast family on Art's passing.
I knew Art when we were both soldiers in The Royal Winnipeg Rifles in the late 1970's and until he transferred to 2PPCLI. I remember Art as a loyal and hard working individual who loved being a soldier. We always had interesting and heartfelt conversations as both of us had our separate hardships in life. Unfortunately, I lost contact with him over the years.
Rest in peace, brother.
