Obituary of Diane Denise Klatt

KLATT, Diane Denise

March 2, 1946 – May 3, 2022

After a short, yet intense battle with breast cancer and heart disease, Diane slipped away in the early hours of May 3 to reclaim the place where she always felt most safe, most loved, most at peace—in the arms of Howie.

Her wish was to be remembered for her humour, her hospitality, and her yard.  She leaves a legacy of wit behind in her children and grandchildren.  Her hospitality was second to none.  The door was always open to friends and family, and staying with her would include being “well fed and watered”.  Mom spent endless hours in her yard digging, planting, moving things around, and she loved her lawn ornaments—each one holding special meaning for who it was from or who it represented watching over her.

Left to grieve her passing:  her canine soulmate, Brody; her children, Gaynald (Gail), Grant, and Gaylene; her grandchildren, Gayna (Mike), Whitney (Andrew), Colton, and Chance; and great granddaughters, Adalyn, Brooklynn, and Athena; as well as many extended relatives and neighbours.

At Diane’s request, there will be no funeral but will be a graveside gathering on June 18^th to place her ashes next to Howie on their wedding anniversary.
