It is with great sadness that the family of Millie Loran announce her passing on September 1st, 2021 at the age of 87.
Millie was born in Wakaw on November 19, 1933. She grew up in St. Benedict and then attended nursing school, and spent many years working as a registered nurse at both St. Paul’s Hospital and Oliver Lodge in Saskatoon.
Along the way, Millie met Tom Loran, the love of her life. They were married on September15, 1956 and raised six children. Family was very important to Millie. She loved attending the many sporting events and activities of her grandchildren, or at the lake with her extended family. Many Saturday mornings in the summer were spent on the golf course of Memorial Lake, often with 12 – 15 children and grandchildren playing along with her.
Aside from golf, Millie loved to play Bridge, eventually joining the Saskatoon Bridge Club with her close friends. Not only did she enjoy the companionship, but always said it kept her brain sharp.
Millie found comfort in her Catholic faith and was a member of St. Mary’s Parish, where she attended daily mass for as long as she could.
Millie was predeceased by her husband Thomas, and daughters Marie and Kathy, her parents Mary and Peter, brother Tom and sister-in-law Marilyn. Millie is survived by her children: Michael (Cindy), Gerry (Louise), Peggy (Bela) and Mark (Michelle); her grandchildren: Niko (Chris), Amanda (Marc), Paul (Stacey), Rachel (Bob), Vicki (Troy), Matthew (Nadine), David (Kim), Nadine (Shawn), James, Julie, Josh, Bela, Braden, Christopher (Megan), Keifer (Nikki) and Ryan; her great grandchildren: Brayden, Trevin, Sonny, Sway, Savannah, Cameron, Austin, Nathan, Harper, Brady, Tori, Damon, Charli, Jameson, Kailey, Peyton, Zaidah, Celica, Thomas, Madison and Carson. She also leaves behind her stepbrother and sisters: Bernice, Joyce, Darcy and Brent and her many other extended family members.
