Obituary of Anna Ficko

Anna Ficko July 28, 1931 - December 16, 2016 Anna passed away Friday, December 16, 2016 at Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre. She was predeceased by her mother and father Maria and Heinrich, sister Maria, and husband John. She is survived by her sons Ivan (Sheryl Sackney), Vasko (Brenda Howell), and Walter (AiHua Zhong), grandchildren Lorie (Robert) Gorman, Jamie (Cynthia) Ficko, Kaylen (Sarah) Ficko, Tyler (Dana) Sackney, Devon, Mitchel (Destiny) Ficko, Johnny and Joey, eight great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law in Edmonton, and numerous nephews and nieces in Canada, Europe and New Zealand. Anna was born July 28, 1931 in Slovenia. On May 12, 1951 Anna married John and they immigrated to Canada in 1957. Anna worked at the Bessborough Hotel for a few years and then worked for Community Health Services until she retired in 1994. Anna was a devout Catholic. She loved gardening, cooking and gathering with her family brought much joy at Christmas and birthdays. Anna was very loving, kind and generous to all.
