Since my sister and I never put in a full obituary, I am going to say a bit about my mother. She was born April 6th 1927. In her 20's she met and married my father,Dennis Wiik, and in 1954 had her first child Terry. About a year later she had a second child Diane. Unfortunately for the family, Diane died in 1960,due to complications of croup. In 1961 Joan and Dennis decided to have a third child, and I, Laurie was born. My mom has raised show dogs, since before I was born, with the registered kennel name 'Terians',which is a combination of Terry and Diane. Over the years Joan had raised, and shown,Collies, Shetland Sheepdogs(shelties), English Cocker Spaniels, and a large multitude of puppies. She was a lifetime member of the Canadian Kennel Club of Saskatoon, and had been a show secretary,a ring steward, and sometimes a Judge. My mom was only 61 when my dad passed away unexpectedly. This was only a week or 2 before they were to move into town. Mom said the only bright spot, that year(1988) was the birth of her first grandchild, with 3 more grandchildren to come in 1989,1990 and 1995. Joan still moved to a her new home after her husband's death, and lived there till health issues, forced her to move into Riverside Terrace. Joan was predeceased by her parents Ada and Ernest Cumming, her second daughter Diane, her husband Dennis, and her older brother Ron. Joan is survived by her sister Ruth(Dulcie),daughters Laurie and Terry(Dale),grandchildren Chelsea,Cayle(Tammy),Ryan(Tiffiny) and Aryn(Jessi) and 6 nieces/nephews.
