Obituary of Henry Joseph Cummings
With his loving wife and family by his side our beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and brother ended his journey here and started a new one in heaven. He leaves behind to celebrate his life, the love of his life, wife Nora; his sons Joseph, Cary (Rowan), Gerald, Bobby, Ricky, Ronnie (Bonnie), Judy (Darrell), Bill (Brenda), Tom (Mary Anne) , granddaughters Jessica and Isabelle, 38 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, sister Julie Pritzel, sister-in-law Eva Skerry, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by his mother Adeline McKay, father Charles Cummings, brother Clem Cummings, Aunt Mary Jane Gardiner, Mother-in-law Irene Dimick, daughter Tina-Lynn, son Randy. Those who knew him will hear his memorable laugh, remember his sense of humour and that he loved to smile. They knew him to be a kind, humble, loving man dedicated to his wife, children, grandchildren and that his family always came first. He was an accomplished jigger who loved his traditional Metis music and fiddling. He loved his classic country music especially George Jones and Hank Williams. He was well known as the ‘Metis Elvis’ impersonator and as Santa Claus. He was a dedicated member of the Metis community his entire life. Thanks to all the friends and family who visited and supported him and our family during this journey. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of RUH wards 6200 / 6300; nurses of ward 6300 at City Hospital, Dr. Nayar (his family doctor and friend), Dr. Lee (Cancer Clinic), Dr. Penn (RUH), his ‘Golden Girls’ May Henderson and Jacquie Bouvier, and also to Faye Maurice, Phillip Boyer and Dallas Fiddler-Boyer.
