Obituary of Maria de Sousa Almeida

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Maria José de Sousa Almeida. Surrounded by her loved ones, Maria passed away on December 4, 2016 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon at the age of 77. Born January 24, 1939 in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Arsensio Rodrigues and Maria da Conceicao, and sister to Luis (Serafina) Rodrigues and José (Maria) Rodrigues. Left to cherish her memory are her loving family; her husband of 58 years Manuel Almeida; two daughters Maria Alves and Natalia (Tim) Sands; four grandchildren Mandy (Kevin) Connell, Mike Alves, Steven Sands and Stephanie Sands, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
