Obituary of Kelly Baumgardner
With both feelings of sadness and relief, the family of Kelly Baumgardner announces his passing on June 21, 2016. Kelly was born in Killaly, SK on November 26, 1926 to his parents Wenzel and Veronica. Growing up he lived in a number of places in Saskatchewan and British Columbia and worked at several different jobs in the years prior to the second world war. In 1944 Kelly joined the Canadian Military serving until the end of World War II. After his discharge he moved back to Pierceland, SK to work in the local hotel owned by Wenzel, his father. In Pierceland he met Elizabeth Gelowitz and on August 6, 1951 they were married. Together they spent most of their lives in Saskatoon, SK where Kelly worked with the Saskatchewan Liquor Board. Here they raised their family and enjoyed their community. In Kelly's retirement years he and Elizabeth enjoyed travelling in their motorhome, particularly to Arizona for the winter. Kelly is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth, his four children, their spouses and families including Darius, Tim(Cheryl, Josh, Cory), Joan Luba (Larry), Patrick (Karin, Carmyn, Daniel, Lisa). Kelly is also survived by one sister Delphine Chapdelaine (Norman). Kelly was predeceased by one sister Helen Fawcett (Freeman). In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Palliative Care Unit of St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon, SK.
