Obituary of Maria Estelka da Silva

It is with sadness that the family announces that the death of Maria da Silva occurred at Royal University Hospital on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Maria was predeceased by her parents, Luiz G. and Maria E. de Mello da Silva (Shanghai, China), stepmother Laura da Silva (Macau); her husband Julio Alberto da Silva of 36 years (Hong Kong, 1948-1984); her siblings Lulu, Melina da Silva (Shanghai) and Christina Oliveira (Vancouver). Maria spend eight companion years with Don Flury (Saskatoon, 1999 – 2007). Mom will be greatly missed by her two sisters, Belma da Silva, Elmy (James) Brandon and the Brandon family all in Tennessee, USA. Her son Mario (D’ann) da Silva (Hong Kong); her daughter Luiza (Jude) Marcal (Saskatoon), grandchildren: Christopher da Silva (UK), Cathy (Lewin) Marriot (UK), Elizabeth (Barry) Dubbin (New Westminster BC), Jason Marcal (Saskatoon) and Kara Marcal (Vancouver BC); great-grandchildren Jessica Ann-Marie (USA), David Marriott (UK), Rebecca Mariott (UK), and great great-grandson Noah Dubbin (New Westminster BC). Maria is also survived by many other family relations across the world. Maria was a gentle, sweet, kind an elegant lady. She made many friends easily, loved the help others, enjoyed visiting with people and loved tea parties! She lived a life of simplicity and never wanted to be a burden to anyone. Her race on earth is over. She will forever be smiling and looking down upon her family and friends all over the world. Our family would like to thank the staff at 1322 Quality Care Homes for their love, excellence and compassionate care; the doctors and nurses at RUH 6200 Med for their kindness and professionalism.
