It is with great sadness and relief that we (Gloria’s family) announce her passing. Left to mourn is her son Zachary Hiebert, Outlook; her brothers; Glen Hiebert, Saskatoon, Bill Hiebert, Edmonton, Bobby Hiebert, Edmonton, Walter Hiebert, Lloydminster; her sisters; Mary (Peter) Klassen, Outlook, Martha (Doug) Archibald, Big River, Kathleen (Les) Pgetzke, Edmonton; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Gloria was predeceased by her parents Johanne and Elizabeth Hiebert; brothers, Edward Hiebert (in infancy), George Hiebert, Harry Hiebert and Richard (Pete) Hiebert.
Gloria had a full life in her short 64 years. She was the only child in our family who graduated right from high school. She had only a few jobs in her life, mostly in the dietary department at Porteous Lodge in Saskatoon , U Of A Hospital in Edmonton and at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon where she retired from when she became too ill to keep her job. Gloria traveled to Europe at one point in her young life. That was a great highlight for her. The 2nd highlight and best was having and caring for Zachary. She loved him with all her heart. Gloria fought and won breast cancer when Zachary was about 6. Later it was discovered that she had chemotherapy induced Dementia. So with complications of the dementia, she left us for what hopefully is a better life. Thank you to all the doctors and nursing staff whom worked hard and did their best to give Gloria the care she needed. A special thanks to her brother Glen. You stood by her and looked after her and her every need better than anyone else could have. Zinadia in the group home, you deserve a medal. Thanks to unit 6300 at City Hospital and unit Eastridge Two at Parkridge Center. You all treated, not only Gloria, but also her family with great respect and dignity.
