Obituary of Terry Byrne Taylor

Terry Byrne Taylor passed away peacefully October 8, 2017 with his family at his side, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was preceded by his parents George and Eileen Taylor and son-in-law Chad Caron. Terry is survived by his wife and friend Kathy, children Darcy, Terry (Heather), Brian, Kelly (Brian) and Brenda as well as grandchildren Nathan Christopher, Milan, Kayson, Braydon, twins Tristen and Tyrah born on papa’s birthday and Meghan and great grandchildren Damien and Mikah. Also survived by brother George (Jeanette) and many nieces and nephews. Terry grew up and attended school in Prince Albert. He had several different jobs until joining the Royal Canadian Navy from 1959-1962. He worked at Burns Foods and ended his career life of 34 years with Correction Services of Canada. Positions were CX2, CX4 in the SHU Special Handing Unit while escorting inmates from Millhaven Institution where he was stabbed by an inmate and moved onto Staff College Prairies in Saskatoon training new staff for 12 years. In his last years he was Fire Safety Advisor working for Regional Tech Services helping to design training courses for OSH which was used across CSC System and procedures for Confined Space Entry and Rescue as well as Fire Training Courses. Terry enjoyed golfing and spending time at Emma Lake with family and friends where fruit drinks were the order of the day.
