In Loving Memory
Matthew Ryan McLean
December 1, 1985 - May 24, 2020
Born December 1, 1985 in Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert Matthew McLean was and is a dearly beloved son, brother, cousin, nephew and grandson to a family that is going to miss him terribly. First born and only son to Peggy (nee McLean) and Roy Robillard. To our knowledge he has no children but he’s a sneaky bugger and doesn’t keep track of his comings and goings very well so who knows who’s gonna be popping out of the woodwork in 18 years... Did someone remember to get a hair sample by any chance? (Who could forget Phil’s wedding?)
After graduating from Sask PolyTech in food prep studies he’s had jobs as a prep cook at numerous establishments in Prince Albert, Saskatoon, Waskesiu and recently B.C.
Gaming, however, was his passion he was always ready to try new games with his friends. His cousins fondly remember Halo and many other games with him.
Matthew was a warm and gentle soul, a sensitive man with a kind and caring heart. It has been a blessing to have had him in our lives.
He is survived by both of his parents, Peggy (Les) and Roy, as well as his older and younger sisters, Ashleigh (Shane) and Nicole (James), as well as his nieces and nephew Natalia, Nya, Shane Wilder and grandparents Priscilla McLean and Dora Robillard, numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins for whom there isn’t nearly enough ink or paper to realistically mention everyone by name.
He is predeceased by his grandfather(s) Angus McLean, Sr., Alphonse Robillard, uncle Vince Robillard, uncle Dave Kraft and uncles and aunt; Donovan McLean, Allan McLean, Kimball McLean, Todd McLean and Mona Lisa McLean. Finally, his cousin Travis Clark.
This is a very difficult time and circumstances to experience any type of family loss but it does certainly feel more tragic when we lose someone so young with so much more to experience in and contribute to this world but the family deeply appreciates all the love and support of our extended families and our communities and friends.
