Obituary of Maria Gracinda Alvoco

Maria Gracinda Alvoco It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Gracinda Alvoco on August 13, 2017 at the age of 83. Maria passed peacefully with her family at her side. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years Fernando and her daughters Margaret (Todd), Linda (Gord), Elizabeth (Stu) and grandchildren Crystal, Brendan, Kyle, Kevin, Kelsie and Cory. Maria was born in Silvares Portugal & immigrated to Canada joining Fernando in Glidden,SK. Maria embraced Canadian life and customs, learning the language and becoming actively involved in the communities that she lived in. She attended church meetings, baked for the rink and curled in both women’s and mixed leagues. Maria was known for her kindness, generorsity and loving nature. This was obvious in all aspects of her life. Maria worked as self-taught seamstress in a variety of stores including Macy’s where she demonstrated her amazing talent when altering wedding dresses. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and was active in curling and bowling. Her greatest joy was being involved in the lives of her grandchildren. Maria will be missed by all who knew her.
