Obituary of Mary Wilson

The Family of Delphine "Mary" Wilson saddly announces her passing on May 14, 2020. A private family service was held on Wednesday, May 20, 2020.

Our mom was born in Cudworth in 1942 and grew up in the Zamosny home until she met our dad, Gordon Wilson.

Mom graduated from Bedford College then went on to attend business college. She was known as one of the quiet ones but her heart was always full for everyone.

Growing up, mom loved Christmas and Easter, going to church and spending time with family. These traditions carried on when she married dad in 1968 the greatest love of her life and shared with her four children. Mom never missed a beat when it came time for the family celebrations during the holidays—she would start cooking, preparing and shopping months in advance. When mom started the family with dad, she put all her heart and devotion into raising, caring and fostering kindness and love into the hearts of her children—her pride and joy.

As the years passed, mom continued to remain the quiet one, but always extended her heart to others when they were in need of comfort or support. She never was one to draw attention to herself or didn’t want anyone to know when she was hurting or facing a health condition. Mom always turned to God, memorizing prayers and scriptures, becoming the prayer warrior for the family—we could always count on mom to extend her shoulder for us to lean on.

When mom wasn’t praying or worrying about us, she loved to shop, collect angels, crossword puzzles, take drives around the city and have a picnic at Pike Lake. When she entered back into the workforce, mom worked at the Saskatoon Inn. The best part of the job was working with the staff and making new friends.

Mom’s courage and inspiration to persevere after she lost dad in 1997 and battled breast cancer in 2012, was found in her deep love of God. Her devout faith shined the path ahead for her to share in the joy of her grandchildren whom she absolutely adored—as a typical grandparent, she would do anything for them.

Mom’s gentle and loving spirit is now surrounded by the heavenly angels and watching over us all. May God rest her soul with dad and watch over us always.

Thank you mom for being amazing, kind, giving, loving to us all and the cherished memories we will hold onto forever.
