ROQUE, Antonio Manual
December 1, 1926 to October 14, 2019
Antonio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at St. Paul’s hospital on Monday, October 14, 2019 at the age of 92. He was born December 1, 1926 in Quintos, Portugal where he farmed until he immigrated to Saskatoon in 1965 and worked in the construction industry as a labourer until his retirement. Antonio enjoyed making grape pressed wine and drinking the wine at meals. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He took pride in his yard and had a garden that he measured off with rows that were exact in alignment and spent many hours caring for and watering. He visited Portugal and family enjoying the bull fights, local fairs, and the seaside. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria of 65 years, son Tony (Gloria) and grandchildren Toni (Scott), Damien (Lisa) and great grandchildren Kade and Kaicee as well as his sister, Maria Jose Apolonia. Antonio is predeceased by his father Jose Baltasar Roque and mother Maria Isabel Barao, brother-in-law Jose Brito Apolonia and nephew Noel Roque Apolonia. Antonio lead a simple, honest and hardworking life and will be greatly missed by family. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 beginning at 10:30 a.m. from St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Parish, 211 Ave O South. Rite of Comital will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
