The family of Jose Carvalho Sousa is saddened to announce his passing, surrounded by family and loved ones, on Sunday June 2nd, 2019. Jose was born on August 31, 1956 in Santa Maria on the Azores Islands of Portugal. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Helena and Augustinho Sousa. He leaves mournfully behind, his soulmate Maria; his three sons Nelson (Tamela), Daniel (Kylee), Kevin (Nichole);  and his three grandchildren Nelson Jr, Tiago, and Olivia. He also leaves behind his two sisters Lurdes (Antonio) Carvalho and Natalia (David) Carvalho; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins,and friends.  Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Jose, was very familiar with his open arms and friendly smile. He was rarely seen without Maria by his side. Spending time with family, friends and loved ones was the most important and favorite past time of Jose's. The family would like to invite any who knew this great man, to the Prayer Vigil at St. Mary's Parish (211 Avenue O South) at 8:00 pm on Wednesday June 5th, 2019. Funeral service to follow on Thursday, June 6th at 10:30am at the same location.
