Dear Family,
I am very sorry to read of Ethel's passing. She was my keyboarding instructor at Saskatoon Business College. Ethel's instruction is a primary reason for my high rate of speed that I have used in my employment for the past 18 years. In addition, she was a neighbour of mine in Holiday Park and we rode the bus together many a morning back in the early '90s. A lovely lady who will be missed. Sympathies to all.

I am sorry for your loss. I remember Mrs. Uhran with much fondness from Saskatoon Business College. I was an older student (40 in 1989) when I attended SBC and had a work ethic and perspective more in tune with hers. I still think of her when I address an envelope on because I could never seem to get the address placed in the correct position using the typewriter. She was a very supportive teacher.

To the family of Ethel,
We are saddened to see where our friend and colleague has passed away. Her passing brings back a flood of memories for the many years I worked with her at the college. To say that she was an extremely valuable, dedicated, and personable human is a big understatement. The college benefited immensely from her teaching
skills and her expertise in timetabling which kept students on track to graduate.
When I started at the college, Ethel had a large classroom full of nothing but manual typewriters. Many of her students won typing contests on these machines. We later converted to electric typewriters and finally to computers which she adjusted to seamlessly. She and I were the stalwarts of the staff bowling team. She had a passion for caring for and racing horses which none of us on staff knew much about.
Her sunny disposition and unflappable demeanour even in the face of minor crises was a huge asset to all of us. We will miss her greatly.
