With sadness the family of Benny Gilecki announce his passing on September 30, 2018 at St. Paul’s Hospital at the age of 58. Benny is survived by his sister Doreen Gilecki and predeceased by his parents Lily and Jack Gilecki. He was born and raised in Saskatoon. Benny attended St. Goretti elementary school and went on to graduate from E.D. Feehan High School. He was a religious man who faithfully attended St George’s Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral.

Benny forged many close bonds with numerous family members. He was a very caring person who would always put the concerns of others before his own. He was a generous and compassionate man who will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

Prayer vigil will be held at St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral Thursday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral Friday, October 5, at 10:00 a.m.

Benny and his family would like to thank Dr. Kennedy and all the caring staff at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre and St. Paul’s Hospital. Special thanks to Father Janko. Donations in Benny’s memory may be made to the Saskatoon Cancer Centre. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Westwood Funeral Chapel.
